What basics to ensure good running
Doing a B16a swap in my brother's 92 civic hatch. It's a first gen engine, i'm wondering what all we should do to make sure this will be a good running engine? Besides the normal valve adjustments and normal maintenance. We're starting it out stock, and dynoing to get a baseline, then adding Type-R cams, intake manifold, cam gears etc.... The car is going to be run with a chipped ECU, with a VAFC for further tuning. Any suggestions are appreciated, I'm very very new to the world of Honda's.

You will probably wantto do the following things:
1. Replace all gaskets and seals
2. Tune Up - cap, rotor, plugs, wires and pcv valve
3. Timing belt and water pump
This stuff is a lot easier to do while the motor is out. It sucks to get you motor in crank it up and think everything is great and have some of these problems pop up later.
