rear upper strut bar any good? someone should do a DIY tutorial on how to make a strut bar
was thinking about getting an upper rear strut bar not sure if it would do anything for performance though
oh I've got a 4th gen and I took out the rear seat backing so I thought I probably needed one
Does your prelude oversteer? Because last time I checked, these were understeering machines... (unless you've changed the suspension so much that you've gone to the other side of the neutral point)
strut bars, in a nutshell, help maximize the effects of a race suspension. I use them on my race cars for a reason. But on the street...they're not gonna do much for you.
You'll carry better corner speeds simply by spending $300 on a weekend racing school/track day than you will by spending $300 on strut tower bars...

yes, my suspension is fully set up and i found out what the rear strut bar does to my car when i ran it through the canyons
depending on your setup, i do believe buying anything to help support the suspension side of your car, is a good investment. I can not wait to pick up my spoon sports front and rear combo strut bars.
oh I'm not much of a racer I just took out the rear seats and the backing/support for extra trunk space. I don't think it'll hurt my car because the support was wafer thin metal and didn't seem pertinent.

better go ahead and pick up the spoon brake and clutch cylinder sweatbands....they will do about as much good....a definite value...

as a suspension nut, i believe that bolting a jungle gym inside your car will not only cost you a lot of money, but it'll kill your interior space, make the car heavier, and not do dick.
also, stb aren't suspension pieces, they're technically chassis reinforcement items. you'd have to be flying through a corner to have a chassis deflection issue large enough to be even felt, then counteracted by a STB.
since preludes are double wishbone cars, the strut towers are unloaded. putting a reinforcement piece on a structural member that is unloaded is like taping a piece of paper to your dick: it doesn't make sense. on a macpherson strut setup, they might help more.
all in all, imho strut bars are the biggest rip off in the car tuning world.

but wouldn't less flex on your chassis help maintain stability during cornering at high speeds?

technically yes. however, on track i've never experienced major chassis flex while tossing the car around. i don't think it's a big deal, esp in the face of much much bigger deals w/ the actual suspension.
anyway, i guess an STB would be fine if you could make one yourself for $5, and it's really not that hard. take some measurements, machine some aluminum, and you're done. there are no real moving parts, and no real design to flesh out.
