well hello guys i have just recently dynoetuned my car after about 2 and half years with the scand i was very disapointed at the results of only 184 pomies at the flywheel i believe.
my setup:
stock b16 internals
gsr cams
skunk cam gears
icebox intake
hondata IM gasket
edelbrock 4-2-1- 2 piece header
jackson racing hi flow cat
5-zigen cat-back no resonator
mugen fan switch and thermostat
mugen radiator cap
jackon racing water injection
walhbro fuel pump
runing 8 psi pulley
i think thats about all the engine mods i can think of rite now. like i said took me over 2 years to dyno tune and the block has about 65k miles on it .also has some tranny work like
quife lsd
act flywheel
CM 6 pad race disk and heavy duty clucth
i can honestly say that the car does not feel anywhere near as powerful now as when i first put on the sc way back when . what kind of damage can i assume the car might have might of been runing lean also dont know i also took a while to get a boost gauge and air fuel gauge . ive hear stories of piston rings needing to be replaced due to bad fuel mixture maybe also cracked pistons or something what can you guys suggest i look for as far as damage and how can i check these things. also on another note my sisters 99 si will soon have a jrsc also but will be dyno tuned before we take it out on the streets and hopefully ill notcie a diff if hers is better then mine with less mods i am safe to assume i best start saving to build my motor.

not tryin to be an *** but its mugen not muegen. if you change a few items on there you'll make more power, like getting a better flowing header and exhaust along with a skunk2 or edelbrock intake manifold.

i think u missed the big picture that it has a jackson racing supercharger . well my first guess wha to check the compression but i have not done that yet yes 2 years only thing i added recently was the cams water injection and the tranny work . its tuned with hondata s200 and rc 440 injectors just recently installed and tuned a month ago

That's what my car made at 8psi too. I had a hondata though. You never said it in your setup, but what did they actually "tune". I don't see anything adjustable in there minus playing with the timing at the dizzy. I've seen an 8psi b16 range from 180ish to 210ish. The more common is around the 195 range. I'd recommend something to tune air/fuel & timing with before anything else. A compression check & leak down wouldn't hurt either to make sure you're boosting on a healthy engine either.

184 at the flywheel? Are you sure it didn't make 184 at the wheels? What type of dyno did you use?
As far as 184 HP, that's weak even if it was at the wheels. I never put mine ('99 Si -w- JRSC) on the dyno until after I had cracked all four pistons a broken all of my rings. It had over 25% leakdown and still made 201 WHP with just a slightly tweaked Hondata JRSC base map. Stuff to think about:
Do compression and leakdown tests on the motor, find out if you broke anything, fix whatever it is. If you have busted pistons/rings, then it will probably be smoking/using oil/fouling plugs.
Sell the JR cat, it's only slightly better than a stock cat. Run a test pipe or get a big Carsound cat (which you can probably buy with what you sell the JR cat for), you want at least a 2.5" exhaust all the way back. Same goes for the 5Zigen if it isn't at least 2.5"
Sell the Edelbrock header, get a cheap Kamikaze with a 2.5" outlet(I just cut off the restrictive fitting on the end of mineso it came out to a 2.5" pipe). Fit it all up using slip-on flanged fittings from your local auto parts store and have your local muffler shop weld it up. Make sure you get a flex section in there somewhere (Summit sells them with slip-on ends for pretty cheap).
Sell the water injection. If you get to a point where you have a problem with detonation, then find a new tuner. The water injection is about worthless. I know, I tried it.
Decrease your cam overlap, it makes a big difference (I got 20 WHP out of it). If you don't know how to do it, then find a reputable tuner who does. This is one of those things that if you do it just a little wrong will destroy your engine.
Sell the intake, put a short ram with a K&N filter on it or just put the filter on your TB and mount the IAT sensor in the end of the filter. JRSC's don't like restrictions in the intake path, the less you have there the better.

okay well it was tuned on a dyno pack i forget what model.the cams were not adjusted in any way and he did recommend getting 2.5 in. cat and pipping .i will try to get the leakdown and compressions tests done sometime by the end of the year im not in a hurry not to get it all fixed since we are getting into winter . i still have my chopped up aem cold air maybe i should throw that back in. i was thinkin about getting a new exhaust anyways what would you guys recommend for my setup ?
i have a friend with a kamikaze header with a 3in downpipe on it for sale. so you could buy that, 3in test pipe and then 3in exhaust and then boom, extra 30whp. the tune could be very very conservative as well.

so today got my sisters car dynotuned and she made 201 whp compared to my 184 flywheel with more boost.but hers didnt feel as strong as mine im guessing the diff in the feeling are my tranny mods compared to her stock tranny she needs a new clutch by the way

The dynapack dynos read wheel horsepower. Even though the print out says flywheel horsepower its really wheel horsepower.
