hey guys i need a sunroof glass but dont really want the weight but need one since its starting to rain alot im just wondering if they made any light ones or anything like that if anyone knows post up a link or anything to help thanks

 

what? sunroof glass weighs like 6 lbs, your civic a race car that you need "light" glass. worthless

I believe the entire unit weighs nearly 50lbs (motor, track, glass) and if you're looking to save weight that's not a bad start. i've seen fiberglass plugs, and i'm sure someones done atleast a few in CF.. never seen a plexi one though..

 

I have an extra roof glass....

 

theres no way the sunroof weighs 50 lbs, the door glass with tracks dont even weigh that much

And there's no way it weighs 6lbs either. I would say it's around 40-50 with everything.

 

just the glass no more the 12 maybe with everything 25 or so no way 40 or 50 just door glass weighs 19 its only a little over an 1.8 inch thick and its not gold

If you can provide us with pictures that prove the weight I'll believe what you're saying. If you don't, it's still bullshit.

either way if your looking to save a little weight remove the slider thats in the inside and get the cf insert

I think it's rediculous if people do that. It's understandable if you turned your Civic into a full on 'race car'. Majority of the people on Honda-Tech don't do that. So for someone to get a CF insert would be pointless for them.
