Since this is Apperance and Cosmetics, I could use some peeps help.
I was wondering what is a good engine cleaner degreaser, I have crud on my block that I wish was not there. I have lots of greese and black everywhere. I could really use some help since this is what is keeping my B16 hatch's engine bay from looking good. thanks guys.
For very tough stuff, I'd try the Castrol stuff in the purple bottle. Oven cleaner works well too. For light duty, Simple Green would be perfect.
Simply go crazy with whatever you're going to use...spray everywhere except for the battery, ignition area, belts, valve cover, and the electrical wiring. For tough areas, let the cleaning solution sit for a while and use a brush to scrub. Rinse with low pressure water. Just to be safe, let the engine dry for a good hour or so with the hood open. I, myself, start it after 20 minutes. HTH
