Default Cluster Cluster F***

Well just to start out I have tried out everything I can think so please no stupid responses. I pulled the cluster out of my 95 civic hatch today to replace the bulbs behind the tach and spedo. I separated the cluster to clean out the dust and other trash that had gotten in there as well. I took everything apart exactly perfect and put it all back in perfectly. When I turned on the ignition the gas gauge pegged out at a full tank. (no i didn't pull the needels and yes it is totally stock in the cluster, no gay *** white faces) So i pulled everything back apart and manually moved the needle to where it should have been at 1/4 tank mark and put it all back in. As soon as I turned the key back on WHAM full tank again. Any thoughts as to why?

it sounds like you have a connector mixed up.

just a thought, do you still have the old bulbs? maybe there something different or you put the new ones in slightly wrong?

it just doesn't make sense that it would just start doing that.

Found the problem. It was a broken winding wire on the back of the coil on the gauge itself.
