Default ova-heating?

yeah its spelled wrong, just an eye sore.

but as she is driven for about an hr. sometimes less, she would sit pretty close to H. oil seems fine, coolant as well. so what ELSE can it be? i know she shouldnt be getting anywhere closer to H,but she does. maybe i should flush my cooling system AND use a better name brand anti-freeze? i dont know what shes pumping now,but any suggestions ?

wow amigo. sounds like u got a lot of issues with this car............make sure the fans work properly, radiator cap is ok, thermostat open ok, planty of coolant in radiator, no leaks, could have a partially plugged radiator,
does it overheat worse while cruising or at idle ...
As for name brand anti freeze don't waste ur money , buy it at walmart or autozone whichever and whatever brand is cheaper

yeah step mother's gift and curse in one shot.

well you said FANS as in plural. i wouldnt know if both run while im drivng, but at idle i notice the left runs only. cap is tight, coolant level is fine. no leak since coolant lvl remains stable. but you said 'thermostat open ok' whats that mean?

the heating usually occurs when i MASH on the gas a little. or when shes running for about an hour. if im just cruising around she dont rise up towards H,but highway she rises sometimes. plus not to mention even when i DONT mash she sits close to H when driving an hour. sometimes she can be driven over 4hrs and not get close to H. weird

and what you mean partially plugged radiator?

bump.

i notice when shes doing great she sits a quarter over C. point between D4 and D3. but a majority of the time shes pointing passed D4. at times about a quarter away from H. taking it easy lately just to TEST myself,i noticed it wasnt me mashing the gas,nor was it the long trip. never got to check the t-stat yet,but before i do,what ELSE might contribute to this overheating?

First thing I would do is make sure to flush the coolant and refill with good fluid, when getting a car with unknown history it is good to do a complete fluid change. I would check to see if your fans are working properly by jumping the fan relay...unplug it and connect the 2 parts of the plug with either a wire or a paperclip and both fans should be working.

If that doesn't do it then either your relay or your fan switch is bad. Replace as needed and it might not hurt to change out for an oem thermostat. Then after all is said and done you need to obviously bleed the cooling system after 'opening' it up (flushing the coolant or changing out t-stat etc).

There is a bleeder nut on the return line which is below your dizzy, just open that up as the car is warming up and let it stay open until fluid comes out then close it down.

I sometimes think you should just sell this thing and get something else...

i dont think anyone would want to buy her. plus things are getting better and i got faith in this one lol. after the full tune-up,i just want to replace suspensions.

but onto the fans. i was told when the a/c is on both fans run. i did that test and they both work. after shutting the car off the passenger side fan turns on to cool off the car. right side doesnt, and NOBODY has yet to tell me that they BOTH should turn on to cool the car off. <---i repeat that incase someone KNOWS they should or shouldnt. flushing the coolant was on the list too. im just waiting until my arm heals up. meanwhile i throw out questions just to have something informative to read.

I think I remember when the car was running both fans would turn on when the thermostat required it to...when the car was off and the fans would kick on I think it was only the passenger side. It's been a good year or so since I took out my radiator in my old accord. When you turn on the a/c both fans should kick on I believe.
