Default OT: Good tire inflator?

Can anyone recommend a good tire inflator? I have searched Amazon and a lot of people complain most compressors do not move enough air volume to inflate stuff in a reasonable amount of time. I just can't seem to find anything that looks decent. I want to avoid trips to the gas station to adjust the pressure in my tires.

One of my old neighbors had a Mazda 929 he kept garaged. Why I don't know, but the car was immaculate, and had maybe 6k miles on it. I'd see him every Friday afternoon checking tire pressures and airing them up as needed with a bicycle pump.

Spend a little bit more money and get a compressor so you can then invest in some air tools in the future. It will make you life a lot easier for future repairs.

are you looking for a home unit or a light weight unit for after running at the track?

I bought one of these for use at autox and track, it works pretty well

Its a bit on the slow side but usually you are only adjusting up ~10lbs or so. Doesnt take to long, no cords to worry about and lasts forever, FOREVER, on a single charge.

I bought the cheapest nastiest compressor i could find, it cost me about $10, it takes 3-5 minutes to inflate a soft tyre to the correct pressure, but it does the job and the gauge on it is pretty accurate. Why pay a ball of money for something thats only going to do the job a minute or two quicker. The way i look at it, if i was somewhere and discovered i had a soft tyre then to hell with how long it takes, so long as i dont have to drive on it to a gas station to get to an air pump!

You can find small, lightweight units that plug into your cigarette lighter at any auto parts store as well as discounters like Wal-Mart or Target for $10-15.

I got mine at the 'Zone for 20$. I've been saving quarters ever since.

Another option if you already have a compressor at home is a small air tank. I used to use one of these at the drag strip after I lowered tire pressure. Another option is a pancake compressor. You can pick one of these up at a pawn shop cheap.
