what should it idle at...
i seached but could find what i really was looking for.......but what should my car be idling at .....it idles a 1 and thought that was a little low.......its a 95 rs

usually it should idle in between 700 and 900 RPMs if u think it is idling to high look on ur throttle body for ur idler screw. This will allow u to adjust ur idle.

According to the Helms:
Idle speed with headlight and cooling fans OFF: 750 plus or minus 50rpm
This is in both manual and automatic transmissions (auto being in the N or P position).

^^ 750 +/- 50rpm. should be when the vehicle is at normal operating temp. (195-200 deg. F) or little below 1/2 on coolant temp gauge.
about 1200rpm when vehicle is cold is normal
