car dies but dies...

I already did a search but most of the threads dont have the final answer. The are no codes and all 4 wires are sparking. The car starts fine but if I give it gas it chokes and starts to die. Even if I leave it alone it'll just run for a few seconds and just start dying by itself. Throw me some ideas here so I know where to start playing around. I have no idea if the TPS or the MAP sensor have anything to do with it cause if it did it would throw a code. Could it be that the fuel pump already kicked?

Why do you think it is his alternator? Have you checked the fuel filter maybe?
I think if the pump was bad, it wouldn't start at all, can you hear it prime when you turn the key over to accessories?
A good way to do this, is have a buddy put his ear to your open gas tank.

I couldnt hear if it prime cause it turned off in the freeway and the noise wouldnt let me tell. but if it starts for a few seconds wouldnt that mean the fuel pump is alright? im gonna try the fuel filter first and check the injectors for power. thx for the help.

thats what im thinking too, map sensor, cause when I step on the gas the car just chokes. And sometimes when I start the car it bogs for a while and then it just dies again. I checked the vacuum lines but they all seem to be fine. The distributor is out of this because I even replaced the igniter. Could a clog fuel filter do this?
sounds to me like your fuel is not getting to the engine. might want to check your fuel pressure. could be anything from the pump to the injectors. youll just have to look through the whole system or you can take the fuel pressure and see where the clog might be.

is the car running rich? if so then check your map sensor. another thing you might want to take a look at is the distributor.

I highly doubt is a clog. although injectors are worth looking at, and it could also be too much fuel.
