Tickin noise coming from ABS pump??
my teg makes ticking noises when i drive. the ticking sound turns on and off. i took my car to acura and they said the ticking noise is coming from a leak in the abs pump or some ****. i dont know, they gave me a quote saying it was $1000 to replace. is this a normal problem when the abs pump is leaking, is it suppose to make this noise?
i have a 95 gsr and mine did that and when i slid in the snow and abs was activated it would make the abs light come on and abs would no longer work. when i shut the car off and started it again the light would go off but as soon as i would slide again the light would come back on. i disconected the abs computer and now i have no light. obviously i have no abs anymore but it would always shut off anyway so now i dont have to worry about a annoying light.
i am not positive but i heard that if you keep having the abs module leak that the brake fluid will start eating your paint under it so you should either get it fixed or disconnect it
yea sometimes when i brake really hard the abs light turns on and the clicking noise stops, but when i turn off the car and turn it back on the clicking noise is always there. its wierd. you think if i bleed the brakes maybe it would help? how do you disconnect the abs computer? you think the clicking would stop?

yes by disconnecting the computer your abs will no longer work so it will not tick. the computer is on the passenger side behind the rear plastic underneath the rear window. if you do not feel like ripping all that out you can just go into the engine bay and take out the whole abs fuse box (little black box by shock tower). i have the computer and fusebox out and am planning on getting the module and the wire harness out when i get time. i know people will say to keep it but it doesnt work and i dont feel like fixing it.
also i dont think that bleeding the brakes will do anything because it is the pump and it will just keep coming back. it seems like it is a common problem on the 94-97 integras. the 98 and up unit is much smaller and better designed. it will probably be a pain to fix and as you have already found out very expensive. if you really want to keep it you could probably convert to a 98 and up cheaper than the 1000 dollars you said it would cost to fix. it would mean new brake lines and brake booster and master cylinder. in my opinion just get rid of it.
nevermind i found the abs fuse in the fusebox and now the abs is shut off and there is no more clicking sound thanks for the help
