Default Car shuts off while driving.

My car runs fine, there's no other problems. But now and then my car will just shut off, it always seems to happen just after i turn a corner.

It will start up just fine after it shuts off. It doesnt spurt, gurgle, chug or do anything odd when it shuts off. It just shuts off.

Any help would be appreciated. i doubt its my alternator, i disconnected my battery while the car was running and it didnt shut off. My best guess would be the dizzy, but i dont know how to go about checking to see if thats the problem.

Make sure you check all your grounds, as well as check the timing, that was the issue once in my dads van and it turned out to be the timing had advanced a couple of teeth somehow...

Good Luck

check your rotor in the dizzy as well. if it is around corners, perhaps its a fuel supply problem. your fuel filter clean?

checking your alternator by removing the battery cable is a hack way of checking and more often it causes harm to the alternator. Next time you want to check your alternator go to radio chack buy a cheap multimeter and put the leads on the battery while the car is runing and you should get like 13.4-14.5 volts that means your alternator is charging.

it could always be you're battery. check to see if the terminals are lose. i jumped my car once and shut it off. wouldn't start back up. terminal was loose.

check your grounds, a wire might be loose. My car died on me on corners before and it turned out to be a bad ground connection. gl.

i have the same problem, although i had replaced my spark plugs, wires, rotor, distributor, and got my alternator checked out at auto-zone [said it was fine]. I had also replaced my fuel filter and im still having a problem with it. i have sloppy idle, cold start is fine, if i dont warm up the car, itll die once i put it into nuetral or itll idle really really low and sometimes just shut off. all parts were replaced with OE parts as well. i need help too! car still runs, but its annoying and embarassing when youre next to another car and your car shuts off.

Should read positive voltage. Set your mutimeter to DC, put the red lead on the positive terminal of the battery and the black lead to the negative terminal.

To the original poster, check to see if you have spark at the plugs when the problem occurs. If no spark, I'd bet either the ignitor or HV coil in the distributor is the problem... very common in Hondas/Acuras.

Just a thought... if it's not an electrical issue, my dad had the same problem in his 00 impala.. the whole fuel delivery system was FUBAR, but it had started with shorts/bad grounds/in general crappy domestic wiring on the fuel pump...
