According to her trap speed she's putting down 260hp or so.

For just about any popular compact you can reach that number for a reasonable price.

Isphatch - Good Luck Next Season

GirlieHonda - Invest in a good B series engine builder and good luck

When I spoke to her, she said she was running a built k24 motor with 260whp and over 200 tq....

To be running 12.18s at the 2460 lbs that she weighed in at, the power numbers are about right...

At Pomona, most cars were running high 12s with the exception of Loan running low 12s.. I believe the competition will be tougher next year with more people running mid to low 12s and even high 11s... If you want to run this class, you better aim for mid to low 12s....

She is actually making a lot closer to 300 at the wheels. I am in the 240 range and could only get a best of 12.7x this past weekend. The best we can get out of the tires is a 1.9x 60ft so we have to make everything on the top end to go really fast.

I am going to talk to the NHRA about weight breaks for non k-series cars. Since we have the only motors that can get to a 2.4L I think smaller motors should be lighter. I don't think it should be a k-series only class and right now it is. I know we are going to be well over 300 next year and I can't think of a b series that can do that as easy and as reliable as we can.

Thanks the support this past year! It was really great to meet a lot of you. I hope that I can meet a lot more next year and race against a lot more of you. I am locked in to race every NHRA event next year. Always feel free to email me if you have any questions on our setup or the class.

amen to that, chris ... be great to get a 100-150 lb break for the non k-series. I was we're pushing somewhere around 240-255whp on our b-series but best e/t was 12.62 @ 110 ... I'll have to pull a rabbit out my butt to get 114-115 traps. something tells me that you and Loan have alot more power to pull out.

Endyn said we'll be able to pull more out of our setup, but by the time we get to 290/300 with our b-series you k-series guys will be upwards of 350 LOL.

next year will be an interesting year.

congrats to all winners and competitors to making it a fun year in street stock
Also, I've asked Javier to have the nhrasportcompact page updated to show street stock and all of the rounds just like the other sportsman classes. Its been like that for a while now where it only shows 3 qualifying rounds.

I think once we reach the 11 sec barrier, horsepower around 290-300 would have to be achieved with a good amount of torque. Horsepower numbers isn't everything. You can have 300hp with a little torque and run the same numbers as 260hp with alot of torque. Good luck to everyone in the off season.

If you want to keep pace next year you should go with the K series. Here is a dyno chart I found on another site of an all motor K series street motor.

A 100-150lb break would be great for B-series racers.. It definately would help out the class and make things much more competitive...

Cheetah, can you post the details of your 12.62 @ 110 run?

When the class was first anounced I thought it would take mid 12's to win events.

That wasn't the case early in the season for sure, but by the time the first NJ/NY events came up I was sure the ET's would drop like a rock and the MPH's would go WAY up.

Soto's time at the season opener was 13.47@102

Loan went 12 teens already but she wasn't able to repeat that in competiton and the motor laid down in the finals.

But Chris has actually set the standard because until Atco this past month, nobody had run faster more constantly.

I want to run this class and I know what I must do.

Untrue. Ask Loan and she'll let you know the truth. Better yet, ask either one of them to scan in their timeslip. You'll see that the incrementals won't lie about her power. She committed a driving error during launch and her 1-2nd shift.

The record setting run of 12.18@114 was backed up with a 12.23@114. If you watched the finals, you would have seen that my car spun and when I shifted it bogged, hence the slow time. My car hasn't been as consistant as I would like it to be, but that is kind of hard when we are always changing the set-up to go faster.

Contrary to popular belief my car isn't even close to making 300 hp yet...

Good luck with your car and I look forward to meeting you next year. We can use more cars in the class.

That is impressive then because we are only near 240hp but not making a lot of torque and only running a 2.0L.

I am sending you an email later on today as well.

I stand corrected, just saw the high ET and Drag Central didn't give all the numbers.

Still congrat to Loan and like I said before don't spend all that money in one place..lol

with more seat time, i think i would had gotten a 12 sec time slip. my best on the dr was a 13.01@105mph, but i was only making 215/150 on a stock bottomend! also just in weights added to the car, i was packing 200+ lbs just to make the min weight! i think if greg hooks me up with some engine tips, i'll be able to run the car in SS next year and give some people a run for their money!

we have a few n/a daily drivers that have run in the 12s on normal radial street tires. This should be a good class for them, I can see this class in the 11 sec range someday.
