quick question? what the hell is a yamada oil pump
i bought an oil pump off this guy on here and he said it was off of his 2000 gsr. But it doesnt say honda anywhere on it. it says YAMADA on it. and are they supposed to have a gear on them.

Yamada = OEM.
I ordered an OEM replacement pump a few months ago and was a bit confused when a "Yamada" pump arrived in the mail. But then I looked at the factory pump I was replacing, and although it didn't actually say "Yamada" on it, I noticed it had the same Yamada symbol stamped into it.

Yeah yamada is stock. You said it does not have a gear? You sure check inside the whole. Also open the pump up and check the gears condition I always do. Even when its brand new.
