How would you fabricate a bushing? What material could he use? I'm thinking about doing the same.

not bushings, the hardware. the bolt that connects the bar to the LCA.

um you need to order some good rod ends from aurora and get some threaded rods to tighten them, that's about it

I have a package with some Aurora rod ends that will be here on the 31st. I will figure out what sorts of nuts and bolts I have to use and I'll let you guys know.

I'm not the first person to do it, though. I just did a little research and figured out what others have used...

Read the thread below, it contains most information about making your own endlinks (i.e. parts, places to get them, and some part numbers). To make these I used an ASTM graded alloy steel rod, but I am a little dissapointed with the current rust (2-3 months installed).

is this galvanized steel? if it's not galvanized or coated, it's going to rust all to hell very quickly. maybe you should paint them and then use some car undercoating on them.

why would you want new end links? Will it make the bar any "stiffer" I'd like to buy a new swaybar but I'll do this if it'll acomplish the same thing.

Because the stock end-links sound like a f'ing rock hitting your undercarriage with a big swaybar.....or maybe just when they get old, not totally sure.

Stiffer end-links will never have the same effect as a bigger sway bar. It's the same concept as a thicker spring.

how does changing the length of the swaybar endlink effect handling characteristics? It seems like changing any of the suspension geometry must have some effect. . .and if you are going to make your oun set with t-rod and heim joints it would be a good time to decide if you want to go longer or shorter.

It's not that it's longer or shorter, it's that it's thicker or thinner. The stock bar is thin and will twist easier than a thicker bar causing body roll (to some degree). A good thick sway bar will keep both sides pretty even through turns so the car won't flip over like your mom's 87 Lumina.

I was refering to the length of the sway bar endlink itself, not the sway bar. But the more i think about it, the length of the endlink will not have a significant effect on the torsional forces of the swaybar.

Damnit, I wasn't reading close enough....sorry. I think you're right though, the length of the endlink won't have much effect as long as it's not 2 feet long.

I bought mine from http://www.drivewire.com or ww.thepartsbin.com. I can't remember which one. Call them both and ask.

I think each was $30.
