Default How do I get my door panel off?

I have a 97 accord ex 4 cyl

How do I get my door panel off? Front and back please. I never did this and I don’t want to break anything. I need to grease my window tracks. Pix would be good.

I tried searching btw on h-t, Google, and crutchfield.

Thanks

well if your just greasing it then just buy some silicone spray and spray the tracks, that usually works

but steps for door panel are:
1: 2 screws behind door handle. use small flathead to remove cover to get to them. pull handle away and unplug lock connector and then pull clip away from door cable and detach it from handle
2:removed screw from inside handle in the pocket.
3:it helps to remove plastic trim piece behind mirror. just pull from top first then out
4:use either door panel tool or large flathead and pop door panel from bottom corner first. then grab and pop the rest away from panel.
5: lift up and removed door panel, be sure to removed bulb from bottom left

hopefully this makes sense i typed quick

unscrew the lil screw in the doorhandle first which has the chrome handle that opens the door(if not u'll rip off the door panel with half the door handle still attached to the door. . . past experiences ) then the screw in the door handle that doesnt do anything (it's tan), after that pop off the black triangle cover thats near your mirror (it's attached by a metal clip going into the door, so u just gotta yank it off), then u carefully have to pull the door panel off where it's attached to the door but lil plastic "screws" which arent really screws that u can screw out but just keep the door panel on the door. There's about 5 or 6 of them. So after u popped the door panel off the door disconnect the "bottom door light" (sorta a pain cause sometimes it doesn't budge), after that the only thing attaching the door panel to the door is it just hooked to the door on the top, so u just gotta push it up a bit and take it off (also the wires to the electric windows and stuff but u dont need to disconnect those if u are just putting silicone on the window rails, i didn't).

good luck

Under the door panels is a plastic shield thing. I tink it protects it from water going in. I ripped mine while removing it. Is it a big deal? Can I just scotch tape it back? Honda wants 25 for it.

Just get an old shower curtain liner and duct tape it on neatly, or you can use some duct tape to mend the one you have.

alrite, i re-assembled my door panel back, BUT the tab that you use to pull the lock up and down sits ALOT lower than it used to. Did I bend a rod or something?
