Sterio shuts off at idle but works above 3000 RPMS + more HELP
Yesterday I was driving home and my stereo would only come on when I put in my phone charger. But it would shut off shortly after. I pulled out the charger and noticed the metal ring on the front of the charger was gone. It was in the outlet and the metal ring was connecting the positive to the ground(middle to the edge). I took out the piece of metal and my stereo seemed fine until I slowed down to idle then the radio shut off. Then I started going again and the radio comes on at around 3000 rpms then when I slow down to idle and it shuts off. My dome light didnt turn on so I flipped the switch and the radio shuts off. Yesterday my clicker would only unlock one side of my car no today nothing. I tried to test the battery with a volt meter AC current I read nothing but on 9volt setting the battery read 12.4 and at idle 14.8. I thought it could have been the alternator dieing but i am not sure now. I dont have direction for the multimeter so I am not sure if I am using it right but the readings seemed right.
Um, of course it read nothing on AC. It's a battery
Have someone else check the battery. I'm pretty sure it's not the alternator, but have that checked too. By someone else.

Well for those who care or ever search this you may not beleive what caused this. When I got home that night it was late and dark in the parking lot. I figured there was no way that the stereo would work with a blown fuse so I didnt check untill the next day. Well I guess that as the rpms increase the the current can jump the gap and cause the component to work. I found a blown fuse and now everything works fine.
Interesting...glad you got it figured out. But keep one thing in mind: fuses don't blow for no reason, something caused it to overload and blow. You need to check very carefully for any short circuits or moisture buildup around any electrical components.
My cell phone charger broke in the accessory socket. The metal ring from the front fell off and connected the power to the ground in the socket. I saw it when I looked in there so I am sure that caused the fuse to blow.
