Default vtech, feels a little weak

i have a 97 h22, and i search first but did not have any luck finding what i m looking for or i just do not know how to search the right way. My vtech doesn't come across as strong as the other h22, or its all in my head, i have read that their a oil screen, is that true , can i clean that, is their something else i can do to look into this? is their any maintance or replacement parts do to wear. if you guys know any web pages that explain the vtech that i could look up on that would be cool
thanks

You should try cleaning the oil screen under your VTEC solenoid. If it gets dirty it can really hinder the kick you get from VTEC

if your vtech is feeling weak, you are too far away from the base, or maybe your battery is weak....

if your vtec is weak you should clean that screen like he said, its behind the vtec solenoid....

also check to make sure you didnt ruin your motor... thats the only other thing...

if you can definitely tell that it comes on, but it feels weak:
make sure youre using premium octane gas
make sure your sparkplugs and sparkplug wires are in good shape

if your car runs fine below vtec, then there is little i can decipher....but maybe your wires could be arcing at high rpm

Are you sure you are looking in your engine bay? Because a person who has looked at their valvecover would know how to spell VTEC.

Ok do I have to take the VTEC solenoid off? How hard is it and how long would it take?

how hard is it to spell like a grown-up? You need to calm down, new-****...you gotta wait for some of us to make sure we give you the right answer.

Well that all depends on your abilities. Given what you've shown thus far, I don't know if you have the skills to do it.

you'll get a lot more respect, and people will genuinely want to help if you at least master the basics of grammar, spelling, and patience.

To the original poster of this thread cullylude05, I hope your question has been answered.

"How hard is it to spell like a grown-up?"

What dose that have to do with anything, its my choice of how I should or shouldn't spell, aint it? I just don't understand, its not like you can't understand what I am saying... You are just hating for no reason.

"Well that all depends on your abilities. Given what you've shown thus far, I don't know if you have the skills to do it."

Don't worry about me, I have plenty of knowledge and four years of training believe it or not. Not every one here has all data in front of them that will tell you exactly where is what on every single car. Plus when one person replys that it is "Underneath the sensor when it is behind the sensor because you have to take the sensor off first from what I understood.... Yeah I have every right to be confused. Smart ***.

I really really hope that one day we meet. I would love to see you talk to me like that in person, Mr. I Am Tough On The Net.

Just a paper towel or compressed air (depending on how clogged it is). I wouldn't suggest using water

Call me crazy but having hands on experience (if thats what you were implying by "training") should be alot better than "data" on a computer.

At any rate, hope you found the answer to your question.

Ok lets clear this up, I have knowledge, I went to a tech school and certified in ASE AYES. But DO NOT have the knowledge of an avrg machenic simply because i chose to go into computers and not cars like i planned on. So I have good knowledge but do not have the experiance if you know what I mean.

Fighting online is like winning the special olympics, in the end you're still retarded.

EOE, you got owned so be quiet and let the original thread starter talk here.

I hate these stupid threads back and forth. Its VTEC not Vtech. We should make a sticky saying "Basic Honda rules and Terms". This would prolly help noobs
