The solenoid is on top of the unit. The side of the unit that was touching the head has a odd shaped rubber gasket with a screen attached to it. Carefully remove it with a pick or something that would not tear the gasket. Spray the carb cleaner, brake cleaner, or throttlebody cleaner from the inside out.. meaning spray from the side of the screen facing into the unit back out.. wipe off any excess once dry... re-stall and enjoy... if you have any other questions just ask.. good luck
