Default 2.5" or 3" Piping

What size exhaust piping should i go with for my turbo setup? I will be boost around 7lbs. Some say 2.5" is fine, some say go with 3"...What's best for 7lbs of boost. Also, which muffler sounds the best with a turbo engine? I'm looking for something a lot quieter than my N1. I've looked at MagnaFlow. Are they any good?

3" is where it's at for turbo.

if your only boosting 7 pounds run 2.5.

Even at 7psi I would go with a 3" if possible. I am a fan of the Apexi n1 cannisters.

bigger isn't always better, expecially if your going to run 3 inch all the way from the turbo to the intercooler to the TB the area between 3 and 2.5 adds up.

i run 2.5 , personally i think on 10 pounds it is even overkill. do as you please.

We are talking exhaust piping, not intercooler piping. 2.25" is fine for 450whp and I use 2.5" for up to 650ish.

I was planning on running 3" all the way around for running 15 psi daily, up to 23 psi when I feel like paying for real gas! You think 2.5" for the exhaust with that much boost or were you only referring to the other 10psi question?

2 1/2" or 3" will both be fine for your application. We went from stock to 2 1/2, to 3" then to 4". If you event think you will want to increase power in the future go with the 3".
