Like the title says, my tach does not work after I did my motor swap. I just swapped in a 01 b18c1 with harness up to shock tower. My tach doesn't work after the swap. I'm using the 95 gsr ecu. Haven't done the iab, knock sensor and vtec solenoid yet, but was wondering why my tach is not working. This is the first swap that I've done and am stuck on the tach.

it's a jdm cluster. I also noticed that the big blue wire coming out of the distributor ends at the connector and there's no wire to the driver shock tower connector. Looked at a 98 gsr harness and it has the wires. Does anyone know if it's different from the 98 gsr to 01 harness? Speed sensor is hooked up because my speedometer is operating properly.
here are some things to check first. that blue connector by the firewall is for checking for tach signal. put your multimeter to it and it should output some sort of AC when the car is running. when it is not running, that connector should have battery positive DC voltage. if this is good, then proceed to the back of your cluster where the harness is. identify which is supposed to be the tach output using your service manual....perform the same test. if you have output there, then next is to go to your cluster... check the cluster for faults, or use someone elses to test. if you have no output at the dash, go to the ecu harness and check for breaks or damaged cables...if your car is running. i think you have the tach signal at the ecu because it wont run otherwise. have fun. if you need help, post again and lets go at it. PM if youd like.
