I pulled my chip out of my ECU and stupid me forgot which way it goes in?

Anyone know? I dont want to take a chance...

Searched for pics but nothing clear enough. Does the white arrow go towards the front or back? (also side with notch)

The notch goes towards the wiring plugs.

Its in right.. But i still get a solid CEL?

 

Make sure all the legs are in the holes.Its easy to bend one or put the chip in to far forward or back.

Did you ever power it up with the chip in backwards? Do you know for a fact that the chip is good?

 

Yes i powered it up with the chip in backwards (first time i put the ECU in)

and no.. i dont know the chip is good. It was in my OLD ecu when it blew a cap.


I cant find the power cable for my burner to make a new chip

Btw.. This is on a new p28 i just finished chipping. Its fine if i cut J1. It will start with J1 connected and my current chip in.. Just solid cel.

So its eaither a problem with my chipping.. or chip. Is there a way to check if all my solder joins are good on the socket?

That chip is done, throw it away. You will need to burn another.
