Default cant get this bastard running

99 gsr integra obd2a

just finished changing the headgasket...got everything wired up correctly but it dies when u give it gas

start the car
it idles at like 1,000
surges between 1200-1000-800 rpm really lightly
give the car gas and it will rev up but only when you barely give it throttle
when u go to give the car full throttle the car dies completely

what the hell?

checked timing and it seems to be correct....anyone got any ideas?

are you sure all teh sensors are hooked up to the proper location?

the tps and map both have the exact same plugs, just the colors diffrent.

it would def make the cel go off tho.

does the cel come on when you put the ignition to the on position but not start the car? it should come on for a second or two.

My gf's car does the same thing without codes or anything. I've narrowed it down to fuel filter or fuel pump. That's all I can say.

If you have the tps and map sensor switched, the car will run perfect at idle but when you give it gas, it will die. And no, the check engine light will not come on.

did u change the intake manifold gasket?? really sounds like a vaccum leak or switched map and tps(the map will have the longer wire). Did u readjust your valves?? Did u mix up the injector wires?? Goes 1st cylinder brown, 2nd red, 3rd blue, 4th yellow. Make sure u check your codes and get those taken care of first. Also make sure that u don't have your IAC hooked up to the wrong plug. Good luck this can be a real PITA

No, thats clearly a vacuum leak. A slight one albeit, but definitly.

u guys will never believe this ****

we ******* checked timing and it seemed right...maybe off a hare....

well we moved the distributor and it still ran like ****, then we noticed something really really really odd......no one thought of it untill now thanks to my boy ryan....give civicdx a shout out on h-t he has a k swapped eg haha baller.....anyways injector on the number one cylinder was backwards

so we switched it and then it still ran crappy.....

so then we switched the tps again to see if it would work this time and voila...we have liftoff she warmed up and then poped tech like a mother ****** right in my neighborhood

sweeeeeeet

so the other day...when the injector was wrong...it was starting and ideling....so i switched the tps and map and it wouldnt start at all.....so i put em back

then today we switch the injector around on number one...and then switch the tps and map and all the sudden the bitch works.....

oh well...still gonna check the timing to make sure its perfect tommorow night along with new spark plugs...new oil and coolant, and do a valve adjustment...because these things are really really loud

then she will be sound as a pound

gonna convert to obd-1 and run a kenji chip along with the jdm **** intake manifold hopefully in 2 weeks....then get a header and she how she does....

thanks for all your help guys
