Default Grinding noise on VTEC

Hey guys, I just installed a new clutch and TODA flywheel on my DC2R, and after I run them in, it's making this grinding noise (metal against metal)on and off whenever the revs dropped or changing gears on vtec.

The flywheel is new, it's not a machined fly or used. Any ideas on wat to check or anyone have this kinda experience ?

Any kinda help or ideas would b appreciated

Cheers

It sounds like the clutch may be slipping some. Does the clutch need a break-in period? Did you wipe all surfaces free of oil?

Does this sound subside if you ease off of the throttle?

i have no experiance of the toda clutch, but i do know some orc clutch kits make a noise when the clutch is pressed or in low rpm, sounds like a bell being dragged under the car
maybe the toda is the same??

the sound only occur when I ease off the throttle after vtec and it comes on and off. during acceleration or driving below vtec, no noise occur.

i've just got rid of an exedy 6 puc kit that one did'nt make any noise, but my nephew has an ORC full face kit & at first we thought there was something wrong with it, now he actually likes the noise 'cause it sounds a bit WRC, is it possible yours is the same, is the clutch letting you down or is it doing the business?

We checked the pilot bearing b4 we mount the flywheel, and last time we checked it was seating properly. But deffinitely will keep that in mind as I'm bringing my car back to my mechanic this friday. Thnx for the input

I installed Exedy FW, stage 1 clutch and JDM FD recently and noticed some werid noise when I ease off the throttle or downshift at higher than normal RPM. But those noise are not grinding noise though. I haven't finish breaking in my clutch yet, so I will try to do more testing later.

I dropped a new OEM air filter along with the stock intake resonator at the same time, maybe that's what cause the change of sound in my case.

Please keep me posted, I am very interested to see what you mechanic will say. I might need to go back to my mechanic as well.
