need oppinion on GSR
and so i have a 94 GSR with about 150k on it.. im wondering if its worth it to sell my longblock and keep my tranny and swap in a new JDM GSR motor longblock with my old tranny.. just because my motor getting out of date and i want a new and reliable one. what do you guys think?
lol. omg buddy.. what r u really thinking??
i have a 92 integra gsr with the B17a1 engine(very rare). I have 239,000 on a stock engine.. never been rebuilt of anything.. these motors can last.
why would you want to waste money on something you have no idea about. atleast with the motor you have now, you know exactly how it runs, sounds, feel, etc.. if you are worried about your engine, have a leak down test down and that will tell you if anything is wrong. dont sell your motor for NOTHING, and spend money on something that is useless. .its not like you are getting anything better.. if anything.. you're just getting problems you dont need.
if you have money to spend, have your motor rebuilt.. spend some money on it. new headgasket, top end rebuilt, camshafts, etc.. do what you want.. make some real power.
you're money.. do what you want..
i know i got a SOLID ENGINE, and im gonna have a leakdown test done this week and probably do a headgasket, timing belt, waterpump, and tensioner and valve adjustments and i should be good for another 100,000 miles.
just change your oil, and use good gas, take care of your investment.

if you want to rebuild, and dont know how.. then ask around here and find a reputable shop.. and start pricing things together.
New Pistons, camshafts, valvesprings, valves, retainers, rods, bearings, etc..
just ask around, find out.. prices..
but if you want to find out if you have a healthy motor, have a leak down test.. that will tell you everything you need to know before you start spending money.

he just said what to do. rebuild her. at the very least you can do plugs, wires, run some sea foam through here, get an injector cleaning done by a shop....not just the crud you put in your gas....if you want your motor to feel new again, rebuild.
the leak down test will tell you if you your motor can get any newer.
if you have it tested and get 100% in all 4 cylinders. then your motor is not getting any newer.
now if you get lower numbers, they will tell you what the problems are, and then you can go from there and replace what is needed.
like he said.. plugs, wires, distributor, maybe some seafoam (works great).
but if you wanna do some bolt on power, AEM V2 CAI, DC 4-1 Headers, Some kind of exhaust, high flow catalytic converter if you are in an emissions area.
do some skunk2 pro series camshafts, valve springs, retainers, valves, intake manifold, cam gears, hondata and have it tuned.
that alone will give you quite a bit of extra power.

isnt swappin a fresh low mileage in a GSR is like having a new car??? in my oppinion i think integra looks the best especially with that 98 front end. can never stop looking at it. i would honsetly defenitely buy a new GSR if ever nething happens to mines.. so y not buy a new motor for it.. same thing like having a new car right??
b/c other things on cars wear out and break besides the motor. if its a 11 yr old car you have to worry about alot of other things needing replacement besides an engine that runs perfect. the motor swap will cost almost as much as the car is worth. looking at it from an economic point of view, dont spend alot of money on swapping out a perfectly good engine when that money will be needed for regular maintence.
