All depends on the build of the motors. Stock for stock, i'd still give it to the gsr motor but also it does depend on tranny.

My friend has an LS-VTEC engine and tranny and it really lacks in low-end. Higher up in RPM's it starts to pull, but I still would not get one. If you have the money, definitely go with the GSR.

Re: LS-VTEC vs GSR motor (vtecsej1)
The only thing that makes LS-vtec unreliable is how they are put together and most importantly how they are driven. if you are going to think you can take a low compression motor and rev the **** out of it cuz it has some maaad vtak head on it, you are gay. LS-vtec done right will be one hell of a motor.
Another good motor would be the CRvtec. Those motors can do some damage. I've seen completely stock crvtecs putting down around 220whp. One more thing, any Bseries motor with an LS tranny is going to be slow.

GO B20VTEC/CRVTEC same thing it will have more tourqe then an ls plush it will have the top end when you go vtec and ls vtec done right will beat a gs-r ANY DAY! becasue you will have more tourqe then they do with the top end to sense your vtec.

They do put down good numbers, but 220hp is high for a bone-stock b20vtec. 220 can be easily reached with this setup though. My buddy has one, fully-built, high-comp pistons, cams, blah blah blah he put down around 240-250 the last trip to the dyno. I can't remember what his tq numbers were, but they were alot higher than we expected. And I think the results from an lsvtec are more comparible to a hype-R than a gsr (possibe b/c an ls has slightly more displacement than a gsr??? i dont know).

And this is a little misleading... b20's are in more than just the CRV; it's just that the b20z (crv) is the most desirable of the b20 family.

I'd Say LS Vtec or B20 Vtec...I mean, they RUN, if you know what your doin. Get a b16 head w/ the Golden Eagle kit, SI Tranny... right person behind the wheel..you know the whole deal....I'd say youd be beating GS-R's

Re: LS-VTEC vs GSR motor (VTECsound.)
get a LS vtec if u dont have money. get gsr if u have money. its all in u. its all in how u build it. both have a good potential of going fast. both are fast stock. it's really up to u.

Re: LS-VTEC vs GSR motor (sicky)
it really depends on what your gonna do to the motor in the future...such as Ls/VTEC turbo or GSR TURBO or the NA route...me personally will go LS/VTEC...a very good buddy of mines had a LS/VTEC)stock on stock with a 65shot (EK4dr)...pulls very hard....keeps side by side with a C5 w/ comptech header, apexi n1, hondata, skunk2 cams...

LSVTEC all the way....it matters who builts it....yea there has been many lsvtecs with problems but they werent built rite....my motor has been running strong for about 3 years now and i rag on my car everyday....i have an lsvtec with oem b16 parts in the ls block plus intake and headers and i put down 185whp on the dyno......lsvtec were made 2 beat type r's so u cant compare it 2 a gsr if the R is faster....lsvtec are built motors
