Default type-s intake in an h23, question

thats the old intake with the little dealy on it
thats the new type-s intake and it had no dealy for it. do i have to drill a hole for the little tube to attach to it or is the little tube not nessesvery? btw what is that little tube used for? thx!

Follow the tube and you'll see a little valve that it goes to. That valve is the air boost valve or starting air valve which only adds more air on start up. You don't even need it.....I would just remove that vacuum hose and leave the nipple on the valve open.

i just put it on and my strut bar wont clear the intake, did this happen to you guys too? if not, wht kind of strut bar do you use? thx!

it was like a perfect fit, i had no trouble gettin it in. the only peice of the stock intake that stayed on was the bottom part that is bolted to the car, only trouble so far is that my strut bar wont clear, so i dont think i can put it back on
