Default Car hasn't been run in 2 months. Battery wont hold a charge.

yeah, well i finally got off my butt and got the teg fixed.

got a jump, ran it for a bit, car wouldn't start again.

got another jump, revved the motor lots, ran it for 20-30 minutes, and drove it for at least another 10-20 minutes. shut it off, car wouldn't start.

car started strong every time before it sat for 2 months.

Sounds like you need to invest in a battery.

its like a year old and it started strong every time before it sat.

can it sitting there for 2 months really kill the battery?

Only one way to find out, have it tested. I have heard if you have a short and it drains the battery to zero charge, and it sits like that for awhile, the battery can be ruined. Do you have a reciept, try to exchange it, most have a warranty.

it never shorted... the bolt holding my shock broke, and ripped the brake line, so thats why its been sitting.

car was just turned off and has been sitting.

it will run just fine with a jump, but the charge doesnt want to hold.

my CRX was like that. The battery I had in it hadn't been but 2 months old when I parked the car and let it sit for about 6 months. I had it tested and it had 2 bad cells. Get a new one, and it should start right up all of hte time. Or better yet, take a friend's battery, hook it up, and try to start the car. If you get power, it's a bad battery.

Little things like the clock use power even when the car is off. When the car is sitting for any period of time it's best to disconnect the battery. And yes I've seen battery's ruined after sitting for two months.

something is obviously creating a parasitic draw..check everything out..whats still on when the doors are shut the car off..so yea get that thing tested..more than likely the battery is shot and wont hold a charge..

with a 200amp load it should drop to less than 10v.. this is fully charged when tested

The same thing happened to me too. My car only sat for a month, but the battery was more than a year old. I borrowed my uncle's battery charger. It showed it was low. Got it charged up to 3/4. It was fine for a few days. Then I started having problems again starting the car. Checked the battery again and it was low. Did this a few times, got fed up, bought a new battery and now everything is fine.
So much stuff can drain the battery, like the radio, alarm system, etc.
