5g LS swap problem!!
OK guys, I really need help on this one. I just finished dropping in a 95 LS, with 95 LS ECU into my 95 DX. EVERYTHING is hooked up right, no codes whatsoever. The motor has spark in every cylinder, and the motor is getting fuel. When I go to start it, it cranks over and sputters just a little, but will not run. Everything has been double checked including fuel, timing system, firing order on distributor. What could this be? The only thing I can think of is valves, Please help me out, I want to drive my damn car!! Thanks in Advance.
I had the same problem with my '92 but it was pretty bizzare. I guess condensation built up in the valve cover and got into one of the valve guides. One of the valve seal springs was broken but I didn't notice it when we cleaned out the head. Well, when I tried to start it, the valve got stuck because the guide had rusted. Since there was no pressure on the rocker from the stuck valve, so the rocker flew across the head the next time the cam hit it. It made it clear to the exhaust side from the intake side and got stuck under another rocker. That one cracked in half when the cam came down because it had the other rocker stuck under it. One valve job and two new rockers later, it started the first try.
Long story short, if your motor had been sitting in a yard for a while, it's possible you have a stuck valve too. If you pull the valve cover off it should be pretty obvious.
