First off its a 1996 non-vtec car with 2000 h22a4 motor swap. I got everything else worked out except this. I'm not sure if I need to extend these wires or what
I am doing a 2000 H23 in a 1996. I don't have wiring diagrams for both cars and I have a couple plugs that are not matching up. I am using the 1996 h23 wiring harness. There are three plugs that come off the wiring harnss right under the dizzy. Two of them go to the dizzy and one is a green two wire plug that that looksl ike it souposed to be connected to the coolant temp sensor right under the dizzy but it won't reachand I already have a grey plug plugged on that temp sensor. There is a yellow coolant temp sensor on the thermo housing that I cannont find a plug for. But shis one will not reach.
These can all be mixed and matched in any way. I don't have my old block to see what these were plugged into so I'm doing it blind. if you could tell me what these three plugs plug into it would help alot
Three two wire plugs
two are green and one is grey
grey plug = yellow/blue stip and green/yellow stip
green plug =blue with red stip/ solid black
2nd green plug=Whit with yellow stip/ solid black
What does these three plugs come go too. NOTE I am using a 1996 non-vtec h23 wiring harness

was the car originally a manual or automatic?
unless im mistaken, the water jacket sensors have green plugs....the fifth gen h22a4 doesnt have a temperature sensor in the front like the 96 h23 does, so just leave that green plug undone...just pull it up toward there it will look right if its the right one..
the one on the back of the thermo housing is close to where the egr plug comes out of the main harness if im not mistaken....

Alright so I started the car just now. BIG problem there are two hoses right under the intake PIPE. Down on the subframe about 3-6 inches to the left(driverside) of the rear motor mount. and I don't know where the hell these go but they were squirting out all kinds of fluid. And I can't tell what kind it is. To the best of my knowledge it looks like power steering fluid. the tubes are metal and just a haif bigger than vaccume tubing

Ok I am officially stumped. I went up to orilies and looked at obd1 and obd2 versions of my prelude. I even copied all 2.2 and 2.3 liter versions and none of my diagrams matched the same as what these books told me they were.
I can tell you that on my motor the front and rear coolant temps are green. The vtec is green. and the ect is grey.
I believe these are the colors I can go look later tonight at the wireing colors.
maybe a picture?
yel/blu and green/white c122 below dizzy ect
lt blue and black/red c137 h22 vtec switch
and the other green is probably a temp either back or front im not sure if the h22a4 has 2?

you are right. I finallly figured it out the 1997 car wasn't origionally a vtec car so it had three plugs and those three plugs all went to temp sensor. One on thermostate housing, one on upper radiotor hose neck and one under dizzy. I am going to have to run three wires to the ECU for vtec and vtec switch. Thanks fo rall teh help.
