Default Flywheel

I'm getting a new clutch kit and i also would like to get a lightweight flywheel. I'll probably get and exedy factory replacement clutch but i cant decide which flywheel to go with. I found good deals on the Fidanza 8lb, the XTD 12lb, and a JUN 11lb. Is the 8lb flywheel too light? Which one would be best for high performance, maintaining torque, and still retaining decent daily drivability? Thanks.

Go with the 8lb.........are you changing this yourself? I'm in the process of changing mine.
I'm putting in a stageIII 6 puck clutch along with the fidanza 8lb flywheel.

I'll let you know a little later how it feels. I have to take off the bell housing ot get a dropped bolt out. I'll let you know. From what i saw through searching - everyone is happy with the 8lb and less flywheels. THey said it is great.

The 8lb one is too light for normal driving. Unless you plan to make frequent trips to the track, go with the 11lb JUN

Does anyone know if the fidanza flywheel has the timing marks on it just like the OEM one?

i've been on my 8lb flywheel for over a year

seems fine to me, just drops rev's quicker and might eat a lil more gas but other than that its totally livable

Yes, the Fidanza wheel has timing marks for TDC. I just used mine yesterday.

The fidanza 8.8lb light weight flywheel and exedy organic stage 1 clutch seems to be a popular combo. That's what I'll be going with once my auto->manual swap is complete...

Ok man its in now. The thing is beautiful. Seriously - very streetable. It didn't stall on me once - honest to god truth. The 6 puck ceramic clutch catches very well.

can the fidanza be re-surfaced at the local machine shop when u replace the clutch, or do you have to buy another fidanza friction plate? If you have to buy a new pate, how much do they cost?

Yep definately resurfaceable. Just unscrew the screws and put on a new face.

If you're thinking about getting one - i say go for it. Its a great flywheel. You just have to get used to it. 2nd gear pulls are great. Although I don't have vtec right now I'll get it fixed tomorrow though.

Jun is very expensive.

Fidanza is a reputable company that offers an 8lb flywheel that is resurfaceable. Why pay more for the same thing? Maybe weight difference - but there are many other options.
