Seems like you are leaning towards a 4DR...
If that's the case Lexus all the way. Might not be the fastest or the best in any one category but it will last you.
If I'm wrong, then consider a Used Z06

All but the st00k are on my list of R replacements too. Even though I know I'm gonna have another one in like 2 weeks
The Evo would be my choice BTW, unfortunately their record for voiding warranties over anything would hinder my decision. Looks like I'll just have to get another R.

I have a problem with this mostly because it has been asked and answered too many times already and always boils down to what YOU want/need, Not what We care for.
If anything this is GDD material.
I am also looking at a new car but I would never think of posting up here to see what's popular between a bunch of strangers. Makes no sense. There are way too many personal variables.
Best of luck with your decision and purchase.

At least not by my choice and thank God the wife supports me.
Need a new DD next year, and have looked at all the cars on his list plus more. I'll most likely be staying within the Acura family.

$40k is a TON to spend on something that is going to depreciate at an alarming rate. Most of the people that post threads like this in here are in their early 20's still living at home making about $40k a year and think they can afford a $40k car. Think about that $800+ car payment when you want to get your own house in 2-3 years and have 2-3 years worth of those $800+ payments left. I'm not sure if this is your case or not but remember that cars are the worst possible investment of money. If you jus thave gobs of money, I'd go for the Lexus IS350. I'd also consider an M35. Stepping off of my soapbox now.

You should go for the BMW man, its a bad *** car to drive. A budy of mine has a 04 330 and its a nice German machine. The other cars on your list are pretty tempting too. It will cost you about 45k but its worth it.

Hi. My name is Bill. I'm 21, and I live at home. I used to make $5.15/hour but now I make $5.85/hour after 3 years of long hard work.
Surely with that raise I can afford that porsche 911 GT I've always wanted.

I know you said new but if you have that kind of money to spend buy an E46 M3. You will absolutely love it. Thats all I have to say.

Why not the stook?
If you want something that's comfortable, go with the IS or the G35. If you want something that's fun to drive, looks good and has decent performance, S2000, if you want some that's rough, fast, has a shitty interior, etc get the EVO.
Haven't driven or even sat in a new STI yet.
330's are nice, but it depends on what you like a car to feel like.
Here's your best option: Go drive them all and pick one based on the test drives.

That depends. He might have a trade in that will make his payment a normal 350 a month or so.
I'm going to buy another new car before a house and my reasoning is simple. I'd rather have a new car than a house which would require me to relocate and have AT LEAST an hour drive to work compared to my current 10 minute drive. I hate traffic and would likely shoot someone with an hour plus drive everyday.
In my area, 250k buys a 1 car garage, 1930s 750-1200sqft house.

You are right about cars are worse investments, but I am young and single, gotta enjoy it while it lasts. There is no doubt that I can afford the car, after all expense each month, still ended up saving $4000 cash. If you were me what car would you get?
I am falling for G35 as well, just got addicted to the styling of that thing. Just like to know what you guys think about the G35 coupe look wise.
I thought about M3, but my boss drives a 330ci, it's definitely not a good thing when he sees me with an M3, don't know if he really cares.
Type R style is very nice, I love the look when i first saw a yellow one in 2000, but it's little aged, more for kids that attend colleges

Another vote for a used E46 M3 if you have $40,000 to spend, or you could probably get a used 2005 Elise for that price even with less than 10,000 miles. Those would be my choices if I had $40,000 to spend on a car. I personally don't like a lot of the cars on the list for various reasons.
