Just traded my 2003 Mustang SVT (Cobra) for a 2006 S2000. While I gave up a 450 hp beast I gained a better car and one considerably more fun to drive. I plan to leave the S bone stock and simply enjoy the well crafted engineering - well maybe a blower and 4.56 gears.....
Looking forward to learning from everyone and Happy new Year!

Welcome to the club. That is one heck of a beast you traded in. This car isn't going to have the 'snap your neck' type of acceleration of your old car, but it will corner a lot better and, I would guess, be somewhat more reliable.

The car is red and continues to impress. I was initially a bit sad to give up the Cobra (especially after a few mags came out with it being quicker than the new GT500), but as fun as it was, it wasn't well designed (e.g., half shafts, IRS, oil system, suspension, stereo, seats, etc.). I put in over $2k to correct many of the problems and to keep it from wallowing in turns, and still I was getting dusted in the twisties by all sorts of two-seater sports cars. SVT owners are, for the most part, really helpful and have a wealth of advice, but if you check some of their forums you'll also see that much is devoted to repairs or brainless street racing. I've been chastied by all of my muscle car buddies for "turning to rice," but as soon as they've driven it they all say the same things: "Wow," "Handles better than mime," "Can't believe how tight it feels," and "Needs more horses." For me, cars are a personal choice and I can't think of a better car for me. Thanks too for all the welcomes. Happy New Year and be safe out there!

To you it might be funner But to him as he stated the S was funner. From the sounds of it I guess he fell in love with the reliability that the stang didnt have from the factory.
