NA d16z6 knocking on 14's, dyno and track numbers...
i thought some people in this forum might be interested in this:

here are the runs from tonight 10/19/05 137 whp 2150 lbs w/driver just like last time. as you can see this time i am a bit more consistent in reaction and launch.
.330 2.407 6.504 9.901/71.31 12.843 15.289/92.37 (71F/65%/29.72)

.139 2.401 6.463 9.800/72.40 12.703 15.130/92.98 (59F/89%/29.62)
not quite 93.7 as the hp calculator predicted but tonight was rather humid and pressure was on the low side... i wish the conditions were closer 09/28/05 but... i'll run again next week probably. neptune session has been rescheduled to friday night.
ps, tires are 195/60/14 Falken all season Ziex ZE512 on Civic HX 14x5.5 rims. still working on the launch hopefully 14.9 next week.

dyno results from cam and basic tuning discussed here: https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1401767
mods on the car with 131 whp:
the car has stock D16Z6 engine with unknown milage, probably around 90k miles. it is mildly modified with bolt-on's
AEM cold air intake
EBAY stainless steel 4-2-1 header with 2.1" outlet
JDM 60 mm test pipe
JDM 60 mm catback exhaust
Katman SOHC VTEC program
B&M FPR
CM 7 lbs aluminum flywheel
CM full face kevlar clutch
Magnecor 8mm wires
Bosch spark plugs
Valero 87 octane gas
16 deg BTDC timing
the 137 whp is with AKMEE valve train and simple fuel pressure tuning:
AKMEE D16Z6 Type-S cam lashed to (.007" intake .009" exhaust)
AKMEE D16Z6 valve springs
AKMEE D16Z6 titanium retainers
AKMEE D16Z6 cam gear (-2)

any other mods for that extra 6 whp in the 137whp run? I'm working on building an NA d16z6, and am scoping out its potential. I'm hoping for around 150 WHP, but I have more work planned, and its intentions are road racing.

all the parts are listed. fuel pressure was raised from 42 psi to 53, than back down to 50 psi. didn't change top end much (lost like 1 whp) but beef'ed up the bottom fat. but this is bandaid tuning, neptune going in friday night.
you should be able to hit 150 whp using parts similar to my car, just need more compression and perhaps some light proper porting.
I'm looking to do the usual I/H/E, I'll be doing cam (well, valve train) .040 overbore using overbore d15b7 (I think) flat top pistons that will put me at 11.5:1 CR (I could use a 2 layer HG for just about 12:1, but I think i wanna stay a bit conservative here since I'm in california, and this is supposed to be my daily driver. the head will be handed off to Alaniz for Charleston to do his porting and valve work. Then there will be all the normal bolt on stuff, like LWF, TB, and mayyybe intake manifold.

You can hit 150 whp with all OEM honda parts and Hondata tuning. Seen it done on the dyno. The car went 7.9 in the 1/8th. it was a completely gutted 87 HB with slicks.
Get some slicks and you should be well into the mid/low 14s

I pulled a 15.3 spinning through 1st gear w/ 137whp, full interior ZX2 (2600lbs w/ driver), with i/h/e/chip, rolling on 17's. Props on the Civic, but I would think you'd be pulling 14.6~7's on street tires w/ a weight of 2150.
On that note, someone teach me how to launch a wrong wheel drive car so I don't spin like a bitch through 1st gear (no, I'm not just dumping the clutch
)
