How come ppl make turbo manifolds out of stock HF manifolds but not EX manifolds?

How come ppl make turbo manifolds out of stock HF manifolds but not EX manifolds?
I'm just wondering if i could make a reliable mani out of a stock z6 mani, all you would have to do is weld on a flange and your set. Am i wrong?

ive seen both manifolds but have not held and examined a hf mani...is it something 2 fo with the metal used? or thickness?

no its the style/shape of the discharge flange for the upper header portion. they are completely different...
a couple of years back, I saw a yellow EG hatch with the stock ex/si manifold used as a turbo manifold. They made a top mount with it. Made a matching flange to bolt it up to the stock manifold, ran the tube and welded on the turbo inlet flange. Actually looked ok
