Default 1992 2.2 VTECH Front Brake Discs?

I'm having problems locating any 1992 2.2 VTECH front brake discs. I have searched through a few catalogues and I can only see 1993 onwards listed (282mm) but not 1992. Can anyone suggest what the correct size disc should be or confirm that the 1992 is the same disc as the 1993?

Thanks!

That would be because there is no such thing as a 92 VTEC

there was no VTEC in the 92 prelude in the us. they started having the VTEC in the prelude in 93. So you wont find VTEC brakes for a 92 prelude.

???? I'm in the UK and on my registration docs it says Honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC, declared manufactured 1992.

Am I missing something here or should it say declared manufactured 1993?

I am not sure if the 92 vtec in the uk had the same as 93 vtec brakes. you might want to go to your local honda or autoparts and compare part numbers. I would say compare the 92 vtec to the 93 vtec rotor. and compare the 92 vtec to the 92 non vtec rotor part numbers.

Yes the problem is the car is an import and the main dealer can't find a 1992 2.2 VTEC only a 2.0 16v on that year or the 2.2 VTEC from 1993 onwards.

I've searched through a few catalogues myself and can only find the 1993 onwards listed.

As far as I am aware the vtec model came out in Japan in 1992 one year earlier than it was available to the rest of the world, the specification of the brakes on that vtec model would have been the same as all the 93 - 96 models that were exported later on, as long as it is a vtec then it would be the same as all the 4th gen vtec models that were available to other countries from 93 - 96.

http://www.modacar.com/product...DABRR/ The only difference according to this site, is simply non vtec or vtec models.

no vtec pads for the 1992 lude -- vtec ludes started in 1991 in japan--- Just use some axxis or hawks and you can not go wrong......

For the brakes just go and get 1993 prelude vtec rotors, you wont find them for a 1992 since it was never sold as a 1992 in the UK.

And the model year and year of manufacture are not always the same. Typically cars assembled after August or September are assigned to the next model year. For example a Car built in October 1992 would usually be sold as a 1993 model. And a car built in September 1991 would be sold as a 1992 model.

have you guys ever noticed how the 2006 ford waste of space comes out late 2005.....

same thing with the prelude, the 91 vtec was really a 92 car manufactured in 91....

just get the 93 vtec rotors....not a hard choice...

Hey celox, I'm in the UK too, and also have a vtec Prelude 1992 4ws.+ TC

Use 1993 VTEC discs, and the Nissin Premium Pads, I have the part number from the last time I bought some, I tried some Q&H ones at first and wore them down to the backing plates in 3x months! but then I managed to find the right ones from the dealership.

Here you answered your own question

Your car is a JDM 2.2 vtec from 1992, since in UK it was oficially intodruced 1 year later.

So just look in catalogues for a 1993 2.2 vtec car.
