turbo car in the NE ?
I wasn't too sure were to post this , so I'll post it here . I have a '92 SI . I'm thinking about getting a turbo kit either this winter or spring . But my question is , I live in the northeast in upstate NY . Will the serious cold that we've had these few years hurt the turbo or cause any problems . Should I let it warm up even longer then usual due to the cold ? I plan on getting a turbo timer as well . This is my daily driver , so I can't afford the reliability issues . Also , has anybody had any experiance driving a turboed Honda in the snow ? I just worry about the sudden loss of traction , if there is any .
HUDSON??? ha you dont know upstate. i live just outside of ROCHESTER and ill be driving my car (will be turbo this week or next) all winter. turbo cars love snow. just take the intercooler out and run a pipe there instead, and turn the boost down to like 4 psi. it will be TONS of fun in the snow

Brett</TD></TR></TABLE>My girls parents live in Burlington ( near Fly Creek and Cooperstown ) , and the rest of my family lives in Plattsburg . I travel to both of those regions pretty often . Thats part of the reason I was asking . Ever try to get through Cherry Valley during the winter ? Now that sucks ! ( nice name by the way ! )

north east huh...i got you both beat. ever hear of grand isle vermont? its about 20 minutes from canada. i used to live in alburg vermont...about 5 minutes from canada.
as far as turbo in cold weather. it will be a lot of fun. colder intake temps, colder air flowing through the intercooler. traction is a different story. cold tires, cold road, and turbo...well i could spin 3 gears in my stock vx in the snow. i can only imagine what a turbo car would do!
