Default Is turbo lag really THAT bad?

I know what lag is, but is it really that bad? I have heard from a post that even though there is lag, the car is significantly faster off the line than a N/A car. Is this true? Or will the car take off like it was stock until the turbo spools?

I'm talking about street driving of course. At the strip, you'd launch where the turbo is near max boost already. I'm concerned cuz I just purchased a Drag 3 kit a few days ago. Thanks.

Go take your car for a spin right now...and basically your entire rpm band is considered turbo lag. All lag is, is the N/A version of a turbo car. Lag is no big deal, because you are still gonna start building boost pretty soon, which means you are still gonna have more power before the turbo is fully spooled. Get an Electronic Boost Controller, and 3" piping from the turbo back..and you will have a lot less turbo lag.
