Default going to enlishtown tonight...first time with my new setup and slicks

hey everbody...ive ran at the track before...but never with slicks. im not a big drag racing guy, but i would like to see what kind of e.t.'s i can pull with my new setup. im making 275 whp on low boost and 330 whp on high boost. the car is a 2001 integra gsr.

first run, im planning on going on my bf gforce sports..no burnout or launch, i just want to see what i trap.

second run, im thinking these gforce sports arent going to do me any good and my friend let me borrow his slicks.

ive been doing a lot of technical reading etc, and just want to make sure i have this correct.

i pull through the waterbox and stop right after my front tires are out of it. rev it up to like ~ 4500 and slip the clutch and feather the throttle for about 4-5 seconds...let the ebrake down and ride it out.

for the launch, i find my sweet spot and just slip the clutch?

i know this is a kind of iffy subject, being that everyone drives differently etc, id just like to make sure im doing everything right so i dont break something.

and being im asking the guru's...id really appreciate some advice.

TIA

For the slicks pull into the water box stop and spin the tires just a little bit this will throw some water up on the inner fender wells and then run down on the tires when you pull forward a little bit. Then pull outside the box on the edge and yank the e-brake. I do a second gear burn out b/c you can get the tires spinning faster. I keep doing a burn out till it pulls me out and starts to pull me forward. I then let the ebrake off and pull up to the first light. Light the first beam yank the ebrake and pull yourself till you light the second beam. Go on the third yellow and you should be good.

When I launch I just drop the clutch seems to work for me.

Those slicks do seem a little small, you might just have a burnout machine with those. It seems with your power 23"-24" slicks would be the way to go. If you wanna trade me those 20" slicks for my 22" M&H DOT's i would be down.

on the bfg gforce sports - no launch what soever, i trapped 105.

that was the only run i got in due to the fact that the god dam muscle cars and bikes had to get all their runs in before 10 pm so i only got on run for the night

im going to go back down, but i really need some practice

if you are looking for slicks, i will have a set of 22's for sale today or tomorrow. i might be going to etown tomorrow night. you should go on fridays, less people and you dont have to deal with the unmuffled cars and waiting.

yeah because you arent dealing with them trying to get all the unmuffled cars to run before a certain time, its only muffled cars allowed. get there at a decent time and you should be guarenteed 3 runs, plus sometimes they will let you keep going after 3.

i wouldnt rush into new slicks just yet ---- you can still pull a solid 1.7- 1.8 60 ft on those espiecially with your power numbers. Ran a gsr hatch w/ 100 shot for .5 season spraying outa the hole on m/t 20*8 ....thats just my .02
