Default Block differences. LS vs ITR

Besides oil squirters and the main girdle what other differneces are there in an ITR block that are not in the LS or vice versa.

No that's fine. I realize that all of those things are different I was more concerned with just the block assembly. I was talking with a guy who is building a LS/Vtec but he's using the ITR crank and rods instead of the stock LS stuff. I told him that he's losing one of the benefits of an LS/Vtec, the stroke, which is what makes its torque. His argument is that it's its basically just a stock ITR block without the oil squirters. He's under the impression that he'll be able to rev higher more safely.

I think if he's gonna spend the money he should just get an ITR block. I don't see any benefit to what he's doing.

You're right (stroke) and he is right. Because the R crank is balanced w/ weights, it can handle a higher rev range and operate smoother at that range. But, I think hes an idiot because for the cost of the R crank he could've had his LS crank balanced, lightened and chamfered.
