Default Cleaning your Engine??

1st off i don't know if i should post this is in the appearance/comestic forum or what. . .

but my question is i've seen alot of threads of people swapping their motors and they clean their engine up. i was wondering what do you guys use? Just soap and water? lol or do u guys use like, WD or PB?

Wheel cleaner and pressure washer is easy. Simple Green and stuff like that is nice, and tough spots might take some scrubbing. If you take it apart, it gets hot tanked and comes out like new.

wrap your dizzy and plug wires etc

I know it sounds like a durr duurrr kinda deal but well I've seen it done more then once on a brand new car

Simple green a brush and a hose. I don't like using a pressure washer on the engine, just to easy to rip wires and get water places where it shouldn't be.

dope, lol but the engine isnt in my car yet. Sohc zc. i wana clean up the engine b4 i go any further into the project.

What about goo gone?? will it work ok with the engine or will it mess it up?

Castrol Super Clean and a garden hose. Castrol Super Clean comes in a purple bottle at Ghettozone. Its great stuff. Dont breathe the fumes.

Make sure you start the engine right up afterwards, this way the heat will dry any water that is stuck in places that you can't dry.

In my case you are 100% correct. Can't wash off my braking power though.

use a wire wheel brush on a drill. it works wonders. i used it on mine and it polished the motor for me.
