I was turning my CAI into a SRI today and noticed this box that was mounted near the intake. There are several hoses, one of which connects to the intake manifold and at the other end, it creates a vacuum. I looked up the part and it was connected to this Intake Control Solenoid Valve. I removed that part and reset my ECU and a CEL came on. The car was also idling at a higher rpm (w/ ICSV @ 400rpm, w/out ICSV @ 1000-1500rpm) What is the purpose of this part?

ok that hose that connects to the intake mani is removed. there are three pipes right next to eachother that come out from the intake mani in that area. one is plugged, one goes to the ICSV, and the other goes somewhere else. Do i plug a blank into the one that goes to the ICSV like the pipe right next to it?

the CEL code is 14. And should I plug the open pipe that comes out from the Intake mani with a rubber cap?
I think when you pulled out the box you must have left a vaccum hose off. make sure you dont have any vaccum leaks thats where I would start.
if you unpluged a vacume line make sure to block off the port that the vacume line came off of. more air = higher idle
if your using the an aftermarket intake you don't need the intake control solinod or its vacume box.
if your throwing a cel you unpluged something else more important

Yes, plug the hole in the throttle body plenum then clear your codes and you should be O.K. Code 14 is the IAC valve which may have had a hard time trying to deal with that huge vacuum leak. 400 RPM seems like a low idle.

I think the CEL came on because there is a sensor that plugs to the black box. I guess it tells the ECU that the ICSV has been disabled. How did you guys deal with that sensor plug? It's a gray harness.
You are getting the CEL b/c of the high idle and also a high MAP reading. Like was mentioned earlier, the hose that ran to the ICSV should be removed. The port that that hose pulled into on the Intake MAni needs to be capped. If you go to your local auto parts store you will find little rubber caps for this prupose in the HELP! section.
As for the electrical connector I just put some electrical tape over the end to keep dirt from getting in.

Pull out the 7.5-amp " RADIO/CLOCK " fuse located in the fuse box underneath the hood.
