New Moroso Road Race Oil Pan (18 oics)
Got my new pan today, thought I'd post some pics of the baffles and trap doors as all the pics I've seen to date here have shown as much as I would of liked to see. All in all I think the fit and finish is great. It looks like a lot of thought went into the placement of the baffles and doors, but the true test will be how it performs on the track.

out of curiousty, upon doing an oil change, wouldn't oil get stuck in certain areas??
just the way it looks, it looks like old oil during an oil change might get stuck in certain chambers.

how can you test to see if this works well ?
I mean on a track the best you can hope for is that its doing its job right ?
So whats a good way to review this item ?
and my other question is, do you have to paint this before you put it on, or can you put it on as is ?

Google shows it for $214 here, http://propowerperf.com/index....rt=5a
But I paid $240 here, http://store.summitracing.com/...earch

I got my oil pan gasket in the mail yesterday and I'm just about ready to install it
Hopefully I make it to Mid-Ohio with BMWCCA in 2 weeks (on the waiting list now) and I'll have something resembling a review.

So we'll find out how it holds upto fire?

I have been checking these out, and was going to make a post asking if anybody had tried the new pans, had read where the old model was no good for road racing/autocross. But this one looks really good, thanks for the pics and info. Keep us posted on the fitment and results.
the ground clearance shouldn't be signifcantly affected as the extra quart seems to come from that compartment welded in the back where it barely protrudes the lowest portion of the main pan.

It's possible to hack up a stock pan and add a quart to it yourself. I believe some the of very early Spoon pans had this done. (The one with the blue/yellow EG9 on the cover of the catalogue - thinkin' 1996/'97)

yep, turn off the flash and just extend the exposure on shiny objects

Correct! Early Spoon pans are just like you described. Way to stay on top of things.
