Default Permanent dipstick toob fix???

Well my dipstick toob is loose again

I tried Willard's fix (https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=203783) and it was successful until going back to the track now it's loose again. Has anyone found a permanent fix? Will replacing the toob fix the problem? TIA guys this toob is driving me crazy

JB Weld it if the Honda Bond didn't work out (as long lived).

yep...i cant imagine jbweld ever failing on you...ever just glob it on top of the rad stick where it mates the block....i'd use jb quick unless you got something heavy to keep pressure on the thing.

Don't you need to be able to remove the tube when you get bottom end work done?

loose dipstick is a sign that there's extra pressure within yr engine, most likely from piston rings not sealing correctly.

^ rubbish.

Loose dipstick toob is common on the B18c5 - I think it's from the high frequency vibrations it's subject too from the high redline. I fixed mine by removing dipstick toob, cleaning it (and the mounting surface), and using Honda bond on it when replacing it - didn't have a problem after that. Honda Bond is a common sealant (similar to RTV) that is recommended for applications that are exposed to oil (like this one). You can get it from the dealer.

Tried that but only worked until I went to the track Maybe I'll try it again w/ a new dipstick toob.

I still have yet to fix mine

I was talking to one of my local Acura Tech's, he suggested getting the engine up to temperature then freezing the dipstick toob (a new one of course) then installing.

Heat= expands cold= contracts

The only part that doesnt sound fun is the heat of the engine........

Don't you have to remove the header?

*remove it
*squeeze the end slightly with a set of slip joint pliers (making the end ever so slightly oval)
*reinstall with hammer
