milky coolant, white smoke out of exhaust, bubbling coolant in radiator, and there may be more. i know because i have a blown head gasket right now that i am fixing for my car.

change the oil; it will be a color similar to a chocolate milkshake. or do a compression test, if two cylinders that are next to eachother have low compression, then its the HG.

yeah my car is at the tech school right now cause i'm going to work on it in my auto tech class. do compression test, replace head gasket, change oil, and rotate and balance tires

look under the oil cap, you may see a white milky substance forming.
droplets of oil in the coolant overflow reservoir.
white smoke out of the exhaust constatly and odor of coolant. (sweet type of odor)
contaminated oil.
upon startup the motor may hesitate due to coolant seeping through the headgasket and sitting in the combustion chamber. when starting the car the motor may bog due to the coolant being there.
compression test.
overheating almost immediatly.
bubbling in the coolant, due to compression being sent to the coolant system.

that about sums it up...also in a compression test it shows equall lose of compression in adjacent cylinders.
