I would personally go with B18B because you can boost more

i'd go with the b18 because you dont need vtec if you got turbo and you'll make more power

i would stay away from an ls/vtec turbo setup unless you are a good mechanic or know a good one because the chances of problems happening are very good, just an idea to keep in mind

So much misinformation here.

It's not the amount of boost, it's the tuning. Tune conservatively and be safe, or make more power and run it dangerously. Your choice. A B16A will take boost just as well as a B18.

My brother's stock engine B16A turbo (with GSR cams) just busted off an 11.8@118 (ran out of gear) on 11 lbs.

the general consensus here is b18b, but what about the b18a? what are the differences and what makes the b18b better than a?

i would do an LS. Just finished mine and it has alot of torque. If you boost the LS/b18 you will have good power for fairly cheap. Just my .02

for the price of a b16 swap you could basically do a b18 turbo setup. say its on the cheap side and u pay 2k for the b16 swap, its gonna cost a grand less to get a b18 in most likely. take that saved money and buy a decent manifold and turbo, learn to weld and do all your own ic/exhaust piping. dsm sidemount and bov you could have a nice little setup. chip a p28 and get it tuned with your choice of fuel management. maybe hit 2500 in cost total and smoke b16's all day. or do it this way, buy a b18 and build it for the price of a b16.
