Default PLANNING TO CHAGE BELT/PUMP

hi i'm planning to chance my water pump and timing belt. i was wondering what do i need to buy, i know the water pump and belt, but do i need a new tensinor and valve selent or anything? thanks.

You shouldn't need a tensioner, you can replace it if you want to though just for peace of mind. I replaced my belt/water pump at about 83,000 miles and I didn't replace the tensioner. Other than that you should be good. I would soak the crank pulley bolt in PB Blaster for awhile before you start trying to break it loose.

You could replace the tenn. but we dont normally unless its needed upon inspection (not often in my experience). When you install the water pump there is a gasket that you need to install with it so I put some silicone around the casing of the pump to insure it stays in the right position.

for sealant for the water pump, go to your loacal honda dealers parts dept. and ask them for a tube of HondaBond its the best thing out there!

I work at the honda dealership and we dont carry that so...... good idea though for sure. I will bug the parts guys on monday when i am back from holidays
