MAKE MY CAR LEGAL PLEASE
How do do u make a legal b16a2 swap in my honda del sol. I live in California, and it sucks. Here is the site I am buying the engine from. http://www.japandomesticmotor.com/ can you please help me with a list of parts so i can get my engine bared. I have no idea what ECU that is. Can i still use the same Cat on my car I have a Del SOL SI. PLEASE HELP
you have to use usdm b16 ecu ...p30 if obd1 , ...all the vaccuum lines have to be there , everything has to be stock. headers, intake manifold , etc. and i believe the jdm b16a2 doesnt have the purge valve sensor which is needed to pass legally. All you have to know is that everything has to be usdm and stock.
you need to get the del sol vtec b16 p30 ecu and the delsol b16 intake manifold... or i heard you can use the skunk 2 b16 intake manifold make shure the timing is right on all the wiring is clean no loose connectoins or wires hanging anywhere make shrue the cat is good .. that should pretty much be it

Well if you have a 96+ Del Sol you'll need to be OBD2, if you are 93-95 then OBD1
The parts you will need to source would be the same parts on the 96-97 Del Sol VTEC model or the 94-95 Del Sol VTEC model

you really dont need a usdm intake manifold, I just did what the ref told me to do, i could a) buy a usdm manifold or b) tap into the manifold. I chose b, much cheaper approach. The reason we tap into the manifold is because jdm b16s dont have the little vacuum nipple usdm motors have.
