Default B18B Boosting Question

Ok, We all know why B18B's are good for boosting. But since my brother doesn't believe a word I say can some one tell him why they are good. I know that with a good tune you can run 12psi on a B18B with out internals for a while and you can run 8 psi on stock internals with a good tune for a long time. He doesn't belive it at all.

The reason why Im asking is because I might be getting a B18B t3/t4 turbo that is running 8 psi and making about 220 whp. He thinks it will blow up after a month even though the owner has not had a single problem with it since he put the engine and turbo in the car.

Can some one just give the exact answer to my problem here. Oh yea and the B18B has lowered compression, retarted timing, 450cc injectors, fuel pump, fuel rail and tuned with uberdata. Thanks

agreed. Point him to my sig. 16PSI - 328whp - TOTALLY STOCK - 10k miles boosted with 300+whp and 20kmiles on 10PSI. Everything is hunkydorry. All you need is a competante tuner (me )

Yea thats exactly what I always tell him. He is so one minded. I have a beast mustang, a super charged ls and a prelude. Here thinks he likes all cars but whenever I say anything about civics or integras he just completely thinks they suck and if they ever run more than 4-5 psi theyll instantly blow up. y teg is running 6 psi and I only used a SAFC to tune it. The civic I want is completely tuned by the guy who owns the car and I don't think he would half *** the tune on his own car.

But I always say "Its in the Tuning" Then he actually calls me a ricer...even though every one of my cars can rape his car.

Its either because he doesn't want to be smoked by his brother DRIVING A HONDA.....or he's been hanging around a lot of idiots that just boost their cars ( be it a VTEC motor or a non VTEC ) and hope to run the world's fastest time without so as much using an S-AFC or a VAFC. It is within the tune though. Fuel management is important. If your brother can not comprehend that then he should not be working on cars. Maybe he can install some LED window washer lights or interior lights if he has any skill in wiring...but other than that....he should not be into tuning then if thats the case.

Old post yes, but I ended up boosting my integra up to 10psi with the pulley upgrade and got it tuned with uberdata. Got the civic and got it running 12 psi and has about 4k on it now and is fine running uberdata and I even put a supercharger on my fox. Only 6 psi but it put out almost 600whp. My stage 2 h/c/i probably did most of the work. Now he believes me...Sad thing is now he is getting a 05 GTO. I guess I'll have to beat that too. I'll race him in my civic lol.
