i gota 90 integra rs with i/h/e and was wondering if its normal for the oil light on the dash normally stays on longer then the other lights when they blink off , when u first start ur car. all lights come on with key turned once and then start it then the lights go away, but my oil light wil stay on for a sec longer.

but the same thing happend with my 88 crx hf witha b18a1, b16 tranny in it and the oil light slowly stayed on a lil longer and longer every time i started my car , and found out i had shimmed rod bearings when the block tooka shiet, and my old integras b18a1 block went out also but it had 322k miles on it

r b18a1's that weak or do i get bad luck withem.


also i bought the car and the guy said it wont pass smog because of the 20mph test or somthing?? he said it was cuz it was low on oil and he did a oil change and filled it since then and hasnt tried to smog it. probly lying but what would cause it not to pass the 20mph test??

 

just bad luck... it means that the previous owner didn't take good care of it. It may need new oil. But it could also be other things that cause it to light up. I had that light blinking in my parents camry, because my brothers who drive it hardly change the oil. Once i changed the oil and filled it up, the light went away. that is for me, but not sure if it is for you. You can try to change oil first. Do the little stuff before something big is wrong. good luck

 

best thing might be to drain the oil and pull the oil pan. You be able to plan financially if your motor is bad. Keep the oil levels up.

 

its got the right amount of oil and its 10w30 sythetic with a lil bit of racing lucas oil mix , it jus stay on for a sec and when it gets up to 1000 rpm then it wil go out

im thinkin bout smogin my car and putin a b16 right on the ls trany, i can geta b16 with 65k miles on it for my motor and 200 bucs from a freind.

 

and pass the crap motor to your "friend"

its not a crap motor, it jus a motor with 188kmiles on it. he wana smogable motor and were i live u only have to smog ur car once and thats it until u sell it

 

smog..for the 15 mph...u'll barely pass the HC....for the 25 mph...u'll pass if u dont have cams..get a valve adjusment if not then it'll open too long fail emissions...if u kno someone that can retard ur timing jus for the smog...then u'll pass
